“I stayed in the lodge for four days. The lodge is cheap and basic. The canoeing tour is just a boat tour in a small motor boat. So, don't expect canoeing by yourself. The early sun rise tour doesn't exist. You can see the sunrise at the lodge, but there is no tour. The other hiking tours are nice. The camping in the jungle is a great experience. It is not needed to bring a mosquito net, because there are almost no mosquito's. Just a spray is enough.”

Our guide, Timoteo Wydler or simply Tim, was terrific. About halfway to the location of most of the jaguar sightings, on the river near Porto Jofre we came upon a large truck that broke through a single lane wooden bridge and blocked traffic for the day. Tim worked around the problem and arranged for us to be picked up by another vehicle on the far side of the bridge after we walked over the broken bridge. “The tour guide was excellent and every tour activity was fantastic. However, the company is not responsive or available 24/7 as advertised. The number to call was not a working number. There were several things that should have been clearer to guests, like shorts, t-shirts and tank tops, even flip flops and bathing suits are suitable attire most of the time. For English there should be some one who speaks English from the beginning to the end. On the return trip no one directed us which boat to get on and it felt very awkward. The staff there spoke no English all the way back to the tour operation building.…”
